In an interview with reporters, Italian coach Capello talked about himself and Rome coach Gasperini.

About Gasperini's proper handling of Rome's plight

"From all the teams I've looked at Gasperini coached, he's a bit similar to me. We're all very focused on digging out traits that are crucial to the team from players. I say this because he was in a comfort zone in some way, even protected when he was in Atlanta. Based on my deep understanding of the complexity of Rome, I saw that he was fully in the form and first achieved results, so I think it's great and he's admirable."

About My 2016 Rejection The Italian national team coach position

"I refused when I thought the time was not right. At that time, I had coached the club team and never felt regretful. My feelings for the national team were unprecedented. I still stood up at home and sang the national anthem every match day. One of the best moments in my career was to score a goal against England at Wembley. After we won the victory, I dedicated the goal to 20,000 catering practitioners. The elimination of the German World Cup was the most painful experience, and the anger of the fans of the audience came to me. When I saw that the national team players lacked blood and fighting spirit, I was really heartbroken."
