Former Barcelona director Robert Fernandez was interviewed by Daily Sports and talked about the topic of signing Dembele. Before Dembele played in the Champions League final, Fernandez said that Barcelona treated Dembele misdeed.

Fernandez said: "Yamar is doing extraordinary now, and if the time is right, he will definitely win the Ballon d'Or. And for this year, if Paris won the Champions League, I think the Ballon d'Or might belong to Dembele, and I think he has always been above the standard level.

"When Barcelona used Dembele, we lacked the necessary patience, which was the case for everyone, including the press. To be honest, I think we treated this player badly. I have to say that he had a lot of things he didn't know about at the beginning. He was still young when he came, and we even thought about him two years ago. His talent was extraordinary.

"The key to the failure of this deal is the lack of patience, and the most important thing is that he is still suffering from injuries, which is very contradictory. Many people say that he is not professional, he also says that he is drunk, and that his life is bad, but it is not the case. That is all a lie. This caused a lot of damage to him at the time, and I think it affected his stable performance. He is a very personality player, he finally succeeded, and under the coach of Xavi, his ending was a good one."
