Romano confirmed with his iconic here we go that Manchester City signed Lyon's 21-year-old winger Cherkie.
Romano said: "Cherki will join Manchester City soon, Here we go! After direct contact, the clubs of both sides have reached an agreement and Cherki will sign a five-year contract with Manchester City. As reported by the team newspaper, Lyon will receive a transfer fee of 35 million euros, including additional terms. Relevant documents are being prepared to complete the transaction before the Club World Cup."
Then Romano posted another article confirming the details of Cherki's transfer fee: Lyon will receive an initial transfer fee of 35 million euros and a floating fee of 6 million euros.
Cherki is from Lyon's youth training. He made 44 appearances for Lyon in the 2024/25 season, scoring 12 goals and 20 assists. Cherki is currently worth 45 million euros, and he has the last year left on his contract with Lyon.
