AC Milan plans to move its Serie A home match against Como next February to Perth, Australia, which has triggered strong opposition from players. Milan captain Maignan publicly stated that the move put financial interests ahead of competitive fairness, was the wrong decision, and caused his team to "lose" a home advantage.

Maignan's views on this controversial event

"I completely agree with Rabiot. I don't understand why we have to go abroad to play. Now a lot of things have been forgotten, and we think too much about the financial aspect. This is an Italian league game, and I don't understand why we have to play abroad. More importantly, we should have played at home, so we 'lost' a home court. Our goals are ambitious and we must not take any chances."

{4 Rabiot's opinion

"I was very surprised when I heard that we were going to play a Serie A match with AC Milan in Australia. It was completely crazy. But these are financial agreements to raise the profile of the league and are things we have no control over. There is a lot of talk about the schedule and player health and it all seems really ridiculous. It's crazy to fly so far to play a game between two Italian teams in Australia. We have to adapt as usual."
