"The Sun" reported that Beckham built a private beach at his home, which caused dissatisfaction among his neighbors.
The Beckhams are facing a planning dispute after neighbors saw them on TV laying a beach next to a lake in their garden.
Beckham and Victoria had been given permission to build an artificial lake at their £12 million mansion, but planning authorities are checking whether their original application mentioned adding a 1,000 sq ft beach to the lake.
Their 43-acre Cotswold estate near Chipping Norton is usually shielded from outside prying eyes. But in the new documentary "Victoria Beckham," the beach appears in the background as Beckham chats with his wife.
A source said: "Neighbors feel it is out of tune with the surrounding environment and they are very sensitive about complying with planning regulations."
West Oxfordshire District Council confirmed: "A report has been received about a breach of planning regulations and will be investigated. Survey."
In 2021, when the Beckhams were digging the artificial lake, they were told that the lake must be surrounded by wildflower meadows and native trees to form an overall natural and casual style, integrating the lake and the residence through the delicate expression of organic pastoral landscape.
A source close to the Beckhams said they have not received notice from Parliament and have been strictly complying with the regulations.
The stretch of beach sits between a wooden pier and a safari-style tent built by the company of their friend, film mogul Guy Ritchie.
Guy Ritchie had previously been asked to remove a similar tent he had erected on the lakeside of Ashcombe Estate in Wiltshire.
