According to ESPN reporter Shams Charania, Marcus Smart reached a buyout agreement with the Washington Wizards, planning to sign a two-year, $11 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers after passing a clarification period.

Smart's current career data are as follows:

played for the Celtics for 9 seasons (playing 581 games), averaging 10.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game;

played for the Grizzlies for 1.6 points, 2.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.6 steals per game;

played for the Wizards for half a season (playing 15 games), averaging 9.3 points, 1.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.1 steals per game.

Throughout his career, Smart played in 635 regular season games, averaging 10.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game.
