FIFPro official: It is recommended to enforce the mid-season break; players should enjoy a two-week full off-season

FIFPro has officially issued a position statement on the minimum rest guarantee for professional players. The results of the

study provide 12 suggestions for the football industry, and industry experts have more than 75% consensus on these suggestions. Here are some protections that mainly involve seasonal rest periods and for players’ physical recovery:

- Ensure that players enjoy four weeks of offseason, with two weeks completely free of any training tasks; enforce mid-season breaks.

-Return to Training Agreement: Players need to undergo at least four weeks of recovery training after the offseason to return to the game.

-Travel fatigue management: Travel burden must be considered when scheduling schedules and rest after long flights.

-Young Player Protection: Develop specific workload protection measures for youth training players under the age of 18.

The parties reached a consensus on 12 detailed statements, including the shortest break between competitions, weekly rest days and medical examination pass procedures.
