According to ESPN reporter Shams Charania, Marcus Smart reached a buyout agreement with the Washington Wizards, planning to sign a two-year, $11 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers after passing a clarification period.
Previously, when Ma Jian talked about the Lakers' intention to use Vincent + Cleber + second round pick for Smart, he thought this was "two pineapples for one rotten egg."
Ma Jian believed that Smart had been out of the battle for a long time and his current level was not as good as Vincent. Instead of getting him in the trade, it would be better to find a way to target Love.
